About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking to employ a Service Coordinator to oversee our Individualised Services team. The Individual Services Program provides a broad range of individual support to people with a disability in the community and in their homes. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the service and its future growth.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Lead and supervise a team
  • Recruit, induct and train staff
  • Coordinate delivery of complex disability service
  • Monitor and meet agreed targets for budgets and service quality outcomes
  • Meet risk management and quality assurance requirements
  • Receive referrals and allocate participants to staff team members

The successful applicant will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience (Certificate IV or above)
  • Experience working with people with a disability 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the NDIS and NDIS Quality and Safeguard Commission e.g. reportable incidents
  • Experience in leading, supervising and managing day to day operations of a team, including rostering of staff across a 7 day service
  • Strong capacity to work with challenging issues, at both the participant and service delivery levels
  • Demonstrated experience in communication, documentation and reporting requirements
  • Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) qualification current within 3 years and HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation current within 12 months
  • Current Drivers Licence and access to your own motor vehicle.

The Position is full-time (76 hours per fortnight) on a flexi-time contract and will require providing ongoing service provision during the MDS Christmas closure period. This role is part of the On Call roster system and may include being On Call over the Christmas and New Year period (an on call allowance is provided).This role is covered under the SCHCADS Award at a level 5 ($41.89 - $43.79) classification. Also offered is salary packaging, flexible working hours, and mobile phone.
