About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking to employ a Maintenance Officer to work across all of our programs and services. This role is responsible for general maintenance and minor repairs across 14 program sites and MDS Head Office in the Macarthur, Liverpool and Wingecaribee regions. This role will be well suited to anyone with previous labouring, landscaping, handyman/person experience.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Routine/scheduled maintenance of all properties.
  • Emergency repairs (broken fittings, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical, damage to property, walls etc)
  • Repairs to office furniture 
  • Site rubbish removal and property relocation

The successful applicant will have:

  • Ability to complete manual lifting of moderate to heavy objects
  • Previous experience  in a broad range of general maintenance skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian Standards and Workplace Health and Safety Legislation
  • Ability to work unsupervised and experience in managing planned and ad hoc tasks
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • High attention to detail and adherence to required regulations
  • Provision of own tools
  • Current drivers licence and privately owned utility vehicle

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of working with people with a disability
  • Qualification and experience working in a trade

Working 16 hours per week (2 days a week) this position is casual or permanent part time if preferred. Remuneration range as a casual is $32.20 - $37.81 per/hr dependent on experience. Also offered are flexible working hours and a supportive working environment. You will receive a vehicle allowance of $3200 and a tool allowance of $800 per annum. A pre-employment medical will be required.
