About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking to employ a Speech Therapist.  This is an exciting newly created position, created to support organisational growth within our Allied Health team. The successful applicant will be an invaluable contributor to shaping and designing the role to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Conduct Speech Therapy assessment and intervention to support participants receiving NDIS funding
  • Develop individualised plans that reflect participant's goals as per their NDIS funding
  • Undertake accurate and timely documentation and communication, including clinical notes, reports, responding to inquiries and the NDIA.
  • Undertake professional development activities to maintain and enhance skills

The successful applicant will have:

  • Higher education tertiary qualification in Speech Therapy
  • Registration with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Knowledge of the concepts and principles of Evidence based practice
  • Understanding of the NDIS and the service delivery model
  • Current Drivers Licence and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Current Working with Children Clearance

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children and adults with a disability / mental health and  and from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (if not completed this will be required to be completed prior to commencement).

The opportunity exists for a Permanent Part Time contract at commencement of employment (days and hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant), with the opportunity to move to a Permanent Full Time position (76 hours per fortnight on a flexi-time contract). This role is covered under the SCHCADS Award at a level 5 classification ($40.87 - $42.86 per hour). Also offered is salary packaging, flexible working hours, and mobile phone.
