About the Opportunity

MDS is looking to build a team of reliable causal support workers to work across a number of youth and recreation programs that assist participants with minimal support requirements to access the community in a fun and engaging way. So if you are a fun and energetic person looking to support young people with a disability then our high quality programs may be for you!

These include:

  • Youth programs (7 - 17 years) such as School Holiday Program and Youth Social Program
  • Adult Programs (18 - 36 years) such as Living Skills, Men's Social and Women's Social

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supervise participants and encourage their involvement in a range of activities  - depending on age group these include a variety of leisure activities such as city trips, lunch/dinner outings, movies, go karting, ticketed sporting events and musicals, golf and days at the park.
  • Follow MDS safety, policy and reporting requirements
  • Promote a fun and engaging environment 

The successful applicant will have:

  • The availability to work each school holidays
  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Qualification - current within 3 years
  • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - current within 12 months
  • Valid Working with Children's Check
  • Driver's Licence (P1 or above)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Mobile phone
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision
  • A passion for supporting others

Desirable:

  • Experience working with children or people with a disability

These positions are Casual, offering hours/shifts based on the needs of programs and the individuals being supported. MDS Programs span across the Macarthur, Liverpool and Wingecarribee regions. This role is covered under the SCHCADS Award Level 2. All successful applicants will need to provide NDIS Worker Screening Check number, or complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check and complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
