About the Opportunity

MDS has a number of exciting opportunities for Casual Support Workers for our various programs - including a new initiative THE MDS CLUB

THE MDS CLUB - is a chance for participants to be supported by staff to attend social events and functions with their friends. Participants can choose from different activities that interest them and have the opportunity to get out and about of an evening and weekends.   There will be a wide variety of activities on offer to suit all types,  from  musicals, concerts and sporting events to relaxing nights out for a meal with friends and trivia.

These positions are responsible for supporting people with a disability with daily living skills, community inclusion and participation activities.  This role would be well suited to someone who is passionate about supporting and achieving positive outcomes for others. 

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting people with a disability and their family/carers in achieving life learning, recreation, employment and educational goals and aspirations
  • Engage with people with complex care needs to support achievement and encourage further independence
  • Provide personal care, living skills, transport, other services and support.

The successful applicant will have:

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Qualification - current within 3 years
  • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - current within 12 months
  • Received 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Clearance
  • Valid Working with Children's Check
  • Driver's Licence (P1 or above)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • A passion for supporting others

 

Please note that as this role provides direct support to persons with a disability, the successful applicant must be fully vaccinated as per public health orders.

These positions are Casual, offering shifts across days, evenings and weekends. MDS Programs span across the Macarthur, Liverpool and Wingecarribee regions. This role is covered under the SCHCADS Award Level 2 ($38.08-$41.54). All successful applicants will need to provide NDIS Worker Screening Check number, or complete a NDIS Worker Screening Check and complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
