About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking to employ Transport Drivers to provide safe transportation for people with a disability from their place of residence into MDS program sites and return. Transport runs are completed with a number of participants at a time in MDS Vehicles/Vans, in the morning and afternoon. 

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

• Drive an MDS Light Rigid Vehicle
• Transport MDS Participants to and from MDS Services
• Comply with all traffic regulations
• Assist participants with all supports required during transport including
  • Wheelchair hoists
  • Mobility aids
  • Any supports required to access and exit the vehicle
  • Emergency first aid if required

The successful applicant will have:

• NSW LR Licence with satisfactory driving record
• Provide First Aid Qualification (HLTAID011)
• Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Qualification (HLTAID009)
• Willingness to undertake ongoing training as required
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with people with a disability, carers and people from a culturally diverse background
• Time Management Skills
• NDIS Worker Clearance
• Working with Children Check
• Covid-19 Vaccine

MDS has a number of Permanent Part Time roles available in the Prestons, Campbelltown, Tahmoor regions. Hours of work would be 3-4 hrs per day Monday-Friday (morning run starts at 7:30am – approx. 8:45am / afternoon run is 2:45 pm to approx 4:30pm depending on traffic). This role is covered under the Passenger Vehicle Transportation Award 2010 as a Level 3 $26.27 per hour . Also offered is salary packaging, first aid allowance and leave loading.
