About the Opportunity

This fixed term (until November 2024) position works across the scope of the whole organisation and provides a centralised intake and planning function. This position works with service participants (existing and new) and their support networks to link them with MDS services and activities, support staff and the wider community. This role is hands-on focusing on the development, delivery and execution of actioning new enquiries and involves the practical application of experience working with people with an intellectual, physical and / or psychosocial (mental health) disability and knowledge of the organisation and the wider community. 

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Effectively assist customers to address/resolve a range of their needs and expectations, to link into relevant MDS services and complete initial risk assessment.
  • Work closely with and support program managers and coordinators to complete intake documentation as per enquiry and intake procedure.
  • Responsible for collecting information and developing/maintaining intake records so that MDS can personalise our customer experience
  • Prepare and deliver weekly reports and facilitate a weekly intake meeting
  • Work closely with all departments and services to convert new business, achieve targets and meet goals
  • Actively contribute to the success of the Marketing and Engagement Department whilst also planning and scheduling own work independently.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and demonstrated experience working in the disability sector
  • An adaptable style to meet the individual needs of participants from a range of disability / mental health and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • Highly developed customer engagement and customer service skills with an ability to handle complex and sensitive issues and manage expectations.
  • Outstanding communication skills with external and internal stakeholders – both written and verbal
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications and ability to prepare report data.
  • Acute attention to detail with a passion for systems and processes to drive efficiency.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including ability to plan, set and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines as well as demonstrate flexibility and agility for changing priorities.
  • The capacity and willingness to attend expo’s and community events. Conduct site inspections and support occasional weekend events and/or events outside regular working hours.
  • Ambitious and fun with an aptitude for learning and willingness to resolve barriers to achieve goals.
  • NSW Drivers Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current Covid Vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Clearance
  • Working with Children Check

The Position is Fixed Term due to a parental leave position from 8/4/2024 - 8/11/2024 working Full Time 76 hours per fortnight (Monday-Friday 7.6 hrs per day). Work will be based in our Campbelltown Head Office. This role is covered under the SCHADS Award as a Level 3 ($36.00 - $38.60 per hr).
