Livelihood is MDS's new pathway to employment program in Campbelltown. Empowered by the Jigsaw model, Livelihood is designed to break the cycle so many people with disabilities face – of never gaining entry to the workforce. At the heart of Livelihood is a thriving document and data management business, providing a range of high-quality commercial services to corporate and government clients. This business enables us to provide a training pathway for people with disabilities to prepare for employment at their own pace and undertake award wage employment before transitioning to open employment.

The Team Lead essentially responsible for business development activities including the sourcing and obtaining business opportunities , the timely completion of Livelihood's business contracts as well as the readiness of our Trainees/Paid Trainees before they embark on their work aspirations beyond Livelihood. The Team Lead supervise their assigned Trainees/Paid Trainees to deliver on these contracts, produce high quality work that exceeds client requirements whilst providing a positive employment experience to Trainees/Paid Trainees that will set them up for success in the mainstream workforce.

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Business Development, developing contacts and business leads and relationships to generate new business opportunities, resulting in new Contracts across the Macarthur, Liverpool and Sydney Metro regions.
  • Maintaining effective communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Meet identified KPI's for generating new Livelihood Business Contracts and the execution and completion of contract requirements
  • Provide Paid Trainees and Trainees with the necessary training to fulfil Livelihood contracts in line with pre-established processes and procedures
  • Foster skill development of your team in line with individual employment goals and progression toward gaining mainstream employment
  • Support & supervise the performance of your team, taking a creative approach to implementing strategies that will overcome challenges
  • Provide informal communication to Paid Trainees, carers, allied health professionals and/or families
  • Ensure the business tracking system is kept up to date at all times, including contract status, volume, and estimated delivery date
  • Supervise assigned trainers to ensure they understand Livelihood Digital and the work experiences activities. Providing guidance on how to address business challenges
  • Building a team culture that is reflective of the Livelihood values

The successful applicant will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Business Services / Business Administration and / or 2 years previous experience in supervisory or Team Lead roles
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring a diverse team
  • Demonstrated experience in a business development role with a proven ability to identifying new business opportunities whilst maintaining existing relationships
  • A passion for (and/or experience with) working with people with a disability
  • Ability to multitask and managing agreed timelines
  • Experience within the document and data management industry (desirable)
  • Experience in Training and Development (desirable)
  • NDIS Worker Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Provide First Aid Qualification (HLTAID011)
  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Qualification (HLTAID009)
  • Covid-19 Vaccination

This is a Permanent Full Time position working 38 hours per week (Monday-Friday) This role is covered under the Labour Market Assistance Industry Award - Manager Grade 1 $67,124 per annum. Also offered is salary packaging, mobile and leave loading. A copy of the job description can be found here
