About the Opportunity
We’re seeking existing MDS Support workers who are interested in becoming the designated Training & Onboarding Officer at their MDS Program. This role will use your frontline support worker experience to deliver engaging training and onboarding within your own Day Program/MDS service. This is an opportunity for higher duties, where you will be required to build strong connections with new team members (permanent and casual) providing training during their initial shifts within your program in a number of areas.
What you'll do
- Deliver structured training (in-person) on systems, medication protocols, loading and unloading of wheelchairs, Alayacare and Connx and Manual handling procedures to new staff in your team
- Support new starters through their first days, ensuring onboarding is smooth and consistent
- Contribute to maintaining training resources (handbooks, guides, presentations)
- Work closely with MDS to identify training needs and improvements
What we're looking for
- Experience in support work
- Hands-on, flexible, and comfortable in delivering informal training (full training and support will be provided to you!)
- Strong communication skills
Hours worked for this role will be paid at the rate of SCHADS Level 3 $38.65 per hour.
