About the Opportunity

We’re seeking a back up Rostering Officer to support the MDS Rostering team in coordinating shift coverage, responding to last‑minute changes, and ensuring participants receive consistent, high‑quality support. This is a great opportunity for internal team members who enjoy problem‑solving, communication, and fast‑paced coordination work—and who want to expand their skills without committing to a full‑time schedule. 1 Day per fortnight is available as higher duties, plus additional hours that arise due to absences within the team.

What you'll do

  • Coordinate and maintain accurate staff rosters to ensure participant support needs are met.
  • Respond to roster changes, cancellations, and unplanned leave, arranging suitable replacement staff in a timely manner.
  • Communicate roster updates and changes to staff and supervisors
  • Work closely with frontline teams to understand availability, skills, and participant requirements
  • Ensure rostering practices align with organisational policies

What we're looking for

  • Experience using Alayacare is desirable (full training and support will be provided to you!)
  • Availability to work 1 day per fortnight 6am-2pm plus additional hours that arise due to absences within the team
  • Strong communication and organisation skills

Hours worked for this role will be paid at the rate of SCHADS Level 3 $38.65 per hour. A copy of the position description can be found here

Yes you can do both Support Worker and Rostering Officer roles! MDS would work with your supervisor and team to ensure any higher duties hours worked as Rostering Officer are covered at program
