About the Opportunity
Macarthur Disability Services is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for the accurate, timely and compliant processing of accounts payable and service invoicing, supporting the organisation’s financial operations within a community services environment.
Reporting to the General Manager Finance, the Accounts Officer works within established processes and systems, exercising sound judgement and attention to detail to ensure financial integrity and effective support to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:
- Processing of accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals and payment preparation
- Management of accounts payable systems including Lightyear and Access Expense
- Reconciliation of credit card transactions, petty cash, and relevant bank accounts
- Processing of invoices for services delivered, including government agency invoicing and direct billing
- Completion of reconciliations and tasks within agreed month‑end and reporting timeframes
- Accounts receivable support in a relief capacity during leave periods or peak workloads
- Responding to finance‑related queries in a professional and timely manner
- Adherence to organisational policies relating to governance, confidentiality, WH&S and quality assurance
The successful applicant will have:
- A Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and reconciliations
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines
- High attention to detail and capacity to handle confidential information
- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to stakeholders
- Exposure to NDIS invoicing or the disability sector (highly regarded)
- Willing to obtain a National Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Clearance and Working with Children Check.
Desirable:
- Experience with financial systems such as Lightyear, Access Evo or AlayaCare (desirable)
This position is located in Campbelltown. Remuneration will be in line with experience and/or qualifications.
