About the Opportunity

MDS is seeking expressions of Interest from our existing practitioners for the permanent role of Lead Practitioner. This role will oversee the implementation and management of Behaviour Support and Allied Health services. The position delivers quality services to participants via the management of people, finances and stakeholders, consistent with the strategic direction of MDS. These programs provide services to people with a range of disabilities including mental health, behaviours of concern and other complex supports.

 

The successful candidate will have the benefit of working from a variety of locations: New Therapy Space in Prestons, the MDS Head Office in Campbelltown and Remote work at home. 

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • NDIS knowledge and experience (in particular Behaviour Support, Positive behaviour support framework and Restrictive practices)
  • Manage NDIS intake, transition and establishment of new participants across various behaviour support and allied health
  • Manage the performance of staff including training, mentoring and coaching, performance management and recruitment/selection, supervision including review and endorsement of behaviour support plans
  • Financial Management of programs - assist Finance with individual budget development and review of monthly expenditure
  • Requirement to be part of the MDS On Call program (up to 5 weeks per year)

The successful applicant will:

  • Frontline Management experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health/Human Services (Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or relevant discipline)
  • Minimum proficient level or above Advanced Practitioner Suitability per NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission PBS framework

Desirable

  • Occupational Therapy qualifications
  • Early intervention experience/paediatric
  • Medicare experience
  • Applied Behavioural Analysis

The Position is full time on a flexi time contract based in Campbelltown/Prestons, with the opportunity for some remote work as approved. The role is paid under the SCHCADS award classification Level 6. Also offered is salary packaging, flexible working hours, On Call allowance, mobile phone, Laptop and leave loading.
